On November 7, 2025 , The NOVA Entrepreneur Center Team successfully presented our initiative on “Economic Revitalization & Growth via Rural Frontier Entrepreneurship” at the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs at the 2025 Region 3 Conference in Knoxville, Tennessee.
As business education evolves, it is becoming crystal clear that the future of entrepreneurship is no longer confined to major metropolitan areas. It’s happening in rural and frontier communities that are innovating is agriculture, digital commerce, space, tourism, supply chain, manufacturing, and local services.
That’s why introducing Rural Frontier Entrepreneurship at the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP) Conference is so important.
It elevates education. Programs that teach students how to build businesses in rural environments provide real-world problem solving skills and directly align with ACBSP’s focus on teaching excellence and relevant curriculum. It also addresses the conference theme of how to build real links between industry and education.
It strengthens industry credibility. Rural frontier entrepreneurship connects directly to workforce development, small business growth, digital adoption, and community resilience. Showing this alignment demonstrates a genuine industry-education partnership.
It prepares students for a future of work and innovative career paths. Digital tools, AI, and e-commerce have removed geographic barriers. Students in rural regions can now launch globally competitive businesses from right where they live.

The NOVA EC has recognized that rural communities deserve high-quality, future-focused business education that fuels local impact. The concept of Rural Frontier Entrepreneurship makes a bold statement for Southern Middle Tennessee. Rural frontier innovation isn’t an outlier any longer. It’s the future of what’s next!
It demonstrates innovations to peers and reviewers. From experiential learning to community partnerships, Rural Frontier Entrepreneurship showcases the type of program innovation ACBSP values and what rural communities can embrace!
